In May 2012 Kroger filed a plan with the township Planning Commission that involved demolishing the vacant Kmart building and constructing an 88,000-square-foot structure at the northeast corner of Union Lake and Commerce roads.Īccording the Commerce Township officials, leasing has already begun for the Four Seasons Apartments on Union Lake Road. The supermarket Kroger has moved to an adjacent site where a former Kmart store once stood on Union Lake Road. With an estimated two dozen ongoing projects, both residential and commercial, residents can expect some of the projects to be finished as early as next month.
